The EU: innovation and multicultural tradition

The European Union (EU) consists of 28 members, who together form the world’s largest knowledge producer. This makes up a third of global production of science and technology. The EU Horizon 2020 program, with a budget of 80 billion euros, has been created to contribute to an innovation and knowledge-based society. Nevertheless, each of the 28 Member States is encouraged to continue investing at least 3% of its PIB in this sector. Within the European Union there is a multiculturalism, which is characterized by 24 official languages. The most widely used business languages ​​are English, German and French.
